I can gush on and on about Art Modeste‘s talent but I feel like it never does her justice. I was a little geek when I was a teenager and I loved playing around with Photoshop, being in forums and whatnot and learning how to do banners, tweak pictures, everything to make stuff look beautiful. And when you’re using Photoshop you’re always looking around for gorgeous brushes and textures you can add to your pictures, so it comes out a thousand more times beautiful than the original.
Well while I was looking for the nice things, Lamia was creating them. She’s an illustrator, who actually sketches and does calligraphy and design. She’s a true, honest to god artist, and I’m in awe.
I’m not aware of all the talented people that exist in Morocco, and I feel like they’re a little niche that also don’t seek out overexposure. But I’m glad I stumbled upon her account on Instagram and got to see her work.
Since she lives in Agadir, I had to wait for her to come and expose her work at La Fabrique in Casablanca, to try and cop up a few things from her goodies.
Besides buying my kickass flowercrown girl tee & the cutest flowery stickers for my computer, I also commissioned her for the Pancakes & Wafflez visual identity. Someone making that much magic out of her skilled hands has got to be in this blog somehow. So if you happen to like wonderland and enchanting universes, head to La Fabrique for a tour of Art Modeste’s artwork , or you can directly place your order via her Instagram and check her website for a comprehensive view of her work.
